Went here after the local Toyota dealer tried to charge my 85 year old mother almost $2000 for a repair to pass the state inspection. Cambria Service Center bent over backwards to make the necessary repairs for under $200 and explained everything along the way. Can't say enough about this good, honest mechanic.
Saw an "open" sign on as I rode by and decided to stop. I unknowingly arrived after hours for a state inspection (he was nearly finished closing), yet he agreed to complete it anyway. Maybe if I were driving a car, it wouldn't have happened, but there's only a couple things to check on a scooter.
I can't rate the mechanical ability of this shop because I couldn't get past the awkward social interaction. Perhaps you'll have better luck.
Graves is great and super honest. He's sometimes choosy about the kind of work he does but for most problems on most cars he's great. This is my go-to mechanic for most anything.
Graves at Main Street Auto is fantastic. I've been coming here for 3 years now and would trust my cars to anyone else. Sure, he seemed a little gruff at first (and maybe he rubbed the other reviewers the wrong way), but once you get to know him, you'll find an incredibly caring man who has a bone to pick with the quicky lube places that destroy your car during their cheapo oil changes. If you want your oil changed while you wait - call ahead to see if he has time - I usually just leave my car for a few hours. Prices are VERY fair. And no, he doesn't give quotes on the phone because he prefers to see the car so that he can be more accurate. Give him a chance and you'll find a lifelong mechanic.
