Several years ago, I had some stones restrung by Kay's, dealing with the store in The New River Valley Mall. They did it nicely, Recently, the piece broke, and I went in to ask whether they could fix it. At first, a very nice employee responded to my request, and was starting to write it up, when another woman appeared who told me very rudely that Kays could not have worked on my piece because, she implied, it was beneath the dignity of the company to work on such stones, and that there was no point in sending the broken necklace in for repair.

Her nastiness is quite extraordinary. I hope that Kays will keep losing customers, as they have now lost me, until employees like the one that I encountered are fired.

I absolutely would never spend another penny in this store. I have bought 3 Movado watches here. The first one about 4 years ago has been great. The other 2 that I bought as gifts have had nothing but problems. The last straw was a ring that I bought 3 years ago that has to be inspected every 6 months in order to not void the warranty. every time that it has been inspected it has been sent off to repair loose diamonds. Every time it comes back the store generally sends it back to have the rhodium redone. The ring is white gold and black. Part of it usually comes back yellow. The last time the manager tried to force me to take it as it was. I called costumer service from my cell phone. The manager refused to answer the phone. I let customer service know what was happening. Customer service called again and I called the manager by name and told her that they were going to let the phone ring until she answered. She took the call and then lied to the rep telling the guy that I was just trying to get her fired. She also told him that she offered to send the ring back. She absolutely did not and then even after the rep told her to send the ring back she left it on the counter. I asked her to do what the rep said. She then ordered one of her employees to take care of it. I normally would let this go but I am appalled at the unbelievable nerve and lack of integrity displayed by this manager.
They lost my warranty. I had to pay for the repairs to a necklace I bought last year. I told them I purchaced the warranty. I was told to buy a new necklace and warranty and they wouldn't lose it this time. Crazy!
