Sears is currently treating our service situation as if they are a very large company on the brink of going out of business. Are they?? We have had a clothes washing machine that we bought less than a year ago down for over 3 weeks. It took a week for a third party vendor to diagnose the issue and then after a second week they called and said they only received one part and no time line on the second part. I was told I had to call Sears for a parts update. I then called the Sears 800 “Customer Service” number which is another 3rd party vendor. I was told they have no access to any information and are strictly an appointment center. They told me I would have to start the process all over again with a Sears technician?? They say no information can be derived from the original technician and would have to be diagnosed. We have spent over $200 at the laundry matt and no fix in sight. Again, if you are considering an appliance or any purchase at Sears don’t do it! The after sales treatment has been frustrating and nonexistent with no empathy or care from anyone. All we want is a working washing machine. Is Sears in trouble……..?
Sears Hometown in Christiansburg VA is excellent. In my mind Sears has had a reputation for quality and honesty. I have had good experiences with Sears in the past. When I needed a new mattress I made sure to check out the local Sears outlet. The $1000 dollar cost was money well spent for a firm, high quality pillowtop Serta mattress. The staff was very helpful. I was able to try out different models. They delivered it right to my door. They also can exchange it after 30 days if I am not satisfied. I am sleeping much better! I am happy. Good job Sears!
